YWAM Mazatlan

Director's Update with Brent Madsen February 2018

Welcome to the first Director’s Update for the year. I’m looking forward to using this time to keep you up-to-date on the latest happenings here at YWAM Mazatlan.

24 nations praying together for Mexico [Video]

This morning YWAM Mazatlan staff and students representing 24 countries prayed for our beautiful nation of Mexico. We drew out a giant map of Mexico, got on our knees and prayed over all 32 states: prophesying that out of these places missionaries will be sent to every country on earth.

Merry Christmas from YWAM Mazatlan

Merry Christmas, from all of here at YWAM Mazatlan, to you and yours this season.

Stirring Up The Arts In Mexico

“True creativity does not come easily; creativity is born of

risk and refined from failure.”

- The Artisan Soul

When God told me to do the Art Evangelists School, I had no idea what to expect. I had just gotten
back from a year-long stint in Chile where I was teaching English in a small elementary school. Art
was the last thing on my mind. I stumbled across the website on accident and God spoke to me in
that moment. He spoke deeply to my heart, "I created you an artist and you are doing nothing because you are scared to risk it all.”

10 Truths I Learned When I Joined Missions - A Photo Blog

My time in missions has been anything but ordinary! It has been filled with transformation, community, and the truth of God. I have been in my Discipleship Training School for 3 months and it has been filled with incredible experiences led by the hand of God. These photos are a showcase of the truths I've picked up along the way. As a photographer, I desire to share, impact, and provide an in-depth look at what a life in missions looks like with YWAM Mazatlan.  They represent a remarkable journey of faith in missions, in Knowing God, and Making God Known. They represent how God challenges, loves, and transforms.

High School's Almost Over, Now What... College? Missions? YWAM DTS?

We hear it everyday, a lingering question buried in the hearts of many students nervous to take next steps: Should I go straight to college? Take a gap year? Go on a short term missions trip or take 5 months to do a YWAM DTS ? Of course we’d be so excited for you to do a DTS! But what we want even more for you is to hear God's voice, and walk in His direction. We want you to step into your future with confidence, to fully understand your identity, and to know who God is. Though this may not give you a direct yes or no answer, our desire is to point you towards the Lord and hopefully it will give you some advice on hearing God’s voice in the midst of a tough decision.

Responding to the Heartache in Mexico and the Nations

Amidst the destruction, death, and turmoil that has recently struck Mexico, God has been calling YWAM Mazatlan to go and be His hands and feet among the devastation.

Únete X México - Join Together For Mexico

In the last 15 days, two earthquakes have shaken the grounds of Mexico. A magnitude 8.1 earthquake, known to be the strongest earthquake recorded in Mexico in over 100 years, hit the southern states of Chiapas and Oaxaca. 12 days later, a 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck the country's capital, Mexico City. In response, YWAM Mazatlan has sent a team of 4 to assist in aid, and provide any help possible.

The Ultimate Packing List For Your YWAM DTS

One of the most stressful things about going on a trip is packing! What will I need? What won't I need? Here, we've strived to make your life a little easier. Here is the best packing list for your YWAM DTS here in beautiful Mazatlan, Mexico.

Why YWAM Ships Is For Everyone

If you’re like me, the idea of getting on a ship and heading off to an isolated or hard to reach location can seem really daunting. I was born and raised in the cornfields of MidWest America and it wasn’t until I did a YWAM DTS (Discipleship Training School) when I was 18 that I lived near the sea. I had always loved the ocean but I never even dreamed that I would be on a boat in the middle of it.

How a Simple Pair of Glasses Can Change Someone's Life

As YWAM Mazatlan we believe in evangelism, training, and mercy ministries. Throughout the year YWAM Mazatlan reaches out to surrounding communities to reach people through mercy ministries. Our heart is to use mercy ministry as one way to reach others.
