5 Reasons To Consider Doing YWAM's Bible School for the Nations

Written by YWAM Mazatlan | August 21, 2014

There's a number of secondary schools out there in Youth with a Mission. Here's 5 reasons we think you should consider doing YWAM's Bible School for the Nations (BSN).

1. Be the Living Word

In I Corinthians 11:1 Paul gives us a clear message, “Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ.”  As we journey through the Word of God during these six months, our goal is produce students who would live lives that exemplify Truth.  We are called to be messengers with a life that is consistent with the message that we are sharing.  But how can we go if no one has told us?  How can we give what we haven’t received?  How can we live, what we haven’t seen?  Through the Bible School for the Nations you will encounter God in such a way that the fruit of your life should exemplify the power of the message.

2. Know the Living Word

Joshua 1:8 gives a clear instruction for success, “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your ways prosperous and then you will have success.”  We do not measure success by the standard of the world, but by the standard of Jesus. The heart of being great and serving in the seven spheres of society in such a way that we see real transformation can only come from understanding God’s Ways in all spheres. Our opinion is good, but God’s Truth is absolute.  Through the BSN the students travel through every word of scripture seeking to discover His revealed Truth.

3. Teach the Word that Transforms Nations

I Timothy 4:11 says, “Prescribe and teach these things.  Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe”.  One of the best ways to learn is to teach, and in this school you will be equipped to teach the complete message of the Bible in such a way that for eight weeks we travel as a team equipping local church leaders how to use, live, and apply the Bible in such a way that society is transformed and the message can be exponentially multiplied.

4. Build tools of Study

In the Bible School for the Nations you will be equipped on many areas of study to be a life-long learner.  Hermeneutics is a main focus of this school.  God’s desire is for us to understand the original intent of the message by the author, at the time that it was written and to then successfully bridge the culturally, linguistic, and time barrier between them and us.  As we study the whole Bible using the Historical-Grammatical Method, students are equipped to understand, apply, live, and teach with understanding the Complete Message of God.  Through every book we see His Heart and His Ways, His design for man in every area of society, and how to practically live it and teach it.

5. Transcultural Communication

Matthew 28:18-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations ‘ethnic groups’… teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”  In the Bible School for the Nations, students are equipped to successfully take the Message of Transformation to those that don’t yet have it.  Through studies of homiletics and teaming together with BELT (Bible Education and Leadership Training) the tools are developed of not only Who God Is, What He is Like, and How He Functions, but how to successfully multiply the message through effective teaching styles and seminars that have a proven-track record of bringing forth great fruit and ability to cross over the linguistic/cultural barrier.  This really is a Bible School for the Nations!
