YWAM Mazatlan

Director's Update with Brent Madsen April 2018

Welcome to the April Director's Update.

This month I want to focus on our "twins" ministry. You may be familiar with one, and chances are you've heard of the other, but did you know they were "twins"?

From the very early years of YWAM, God spoke to our founder, Loren Cunningham, about having a "twins" ministry. The heart of God for YWAM has always been to have two ministries working together helping each other. The University of the Nations and YWAM Ships are the "twins" the Lord spoke about. One "trains" (University) and the other "goes" (Ships). Both need each other.

Here at YWAM Mazatlan we have embraced the vision of "twins".  We run University of the Nations training programs like the Discipleship Training School (DTS) and the Bible School for the Nations (BSN) and soon we will be launching our first vessel with YWAM Ships Mazatlan.

Our focus this month as a community has been on the "twins".

Here are some highlights:

  • For the first time, we have 4 University of the Nations schools running at once. Students on the January DTS, April DTS, W.I.S.E. school and the Arts Evangelist school are all being trained, equipped and getting ready to be sent out.
  • As a community we spent time strategically praying for our YWAM campus and our Ships ministry. Both are in exciting phases of growth.
  • April 16 we kicked off a "Together Again" campaign and put out an appeal to all our past DTS students, all 900+ of them, asking if they would re-engage with us and help finish off our 2 floor expansion project.

Maybe you're one of our past students, or know someone who did their DTS with us, and would like to donate to the expansion project. Giving to the "Together Again" campaign is easy!

I'd love to Give!

Our "twins" ministry offer endless possibilities for you to get involved. Whether you want to be trained and equipped, or you're ready to go, there's a place for you here!
